Has anyone else noticed that a lot of 80's songs end up becoming remakes and cover songs somewhere down the road? Of course, it's not just 80's, but the songs that current singers grew up with always seem to make their way into NOW and not just the past, usually with mixed results.
So, here's my question:
What are some great remakes and covers?
Below are the remakes and cover songs that I've fallen in love with, alongside the original song. And while I prefer The Bangles' Hazy Shade of Winter to the Simon & Garfunkel version but I can't help but love both versions of Come on Eileen.
McQ by Alexander McQueen
Chloホ
Steve Madden
I'm going w/ Come On Eileen always a great song
*Thank you. My real name... is plain... Jane Jones. (Alice - Closer)
1I tend to prefer whichever song I heard first...whether or not it is the original or not.
2That's interesting. I tend to like whichever one is either more punk or pop.
3I think it is because I get used to that version... then if I hear another one, I tend to not like it.
4A couple of remakes of the top of my head from the 80s are
Ready For The World - Love You Down
INOJ - Love You Down
Chicago - Hard to Say I'm Sorry
Az Yet - Hard to Say I'm Sorry
I really love all the versions of these though because they are still different enough. Like I never understood why Trisha Yearwood redid Leann Rimes' How Do I Live.. I mean wasn't that pretty much the same thing?
5I like Save Ferris cover!
6I usually like whichever one I heard first, too. I like the Bangles version better!!
